Ewan Shearer Travel Photographer and Sculpture

Travel Photography

Successful travel photography brings together a number of key elements that give us a sense of a place and its people.

Thought-provoking images make the most, not only of fabulous wide sweeping vistas, but more essentially, of the details that bring these panoramas into focus and of the light to breathe life into what is captured.

In this way it makes images personal, intimate and meaningful, to photographer and viewer alike.

Images that manage to breathe life into, and shed light on, the personal internal journey that inevitably takes place as we travel.

Sculpture

The work is inspired by our relationship with our planet, our spiritual links, past and present, and to the environment. Gently highlighting the issues and eco-challenges of the 21st century.

It’s a new way of creating bespoke sculpture that doesn’t cost the earth. Originally drawn, then transferred to graph paper, they are created from fragments of smashed 8mm toughened glass, crystalline, glittering and delicate. They are built up in layers, and bonded together with an uv-cured adhesive, to create my pieces.
