As I leave behind the immediate tensions of life I let go of the anticipation, stretch and hurry of the ‘getting there’, and on arrival, drink in the cacophonic broad brush of the new. I’m overwhelmed, self-conscious; aware of how shrunk back I have become. But, as I travel and move through this glorious show; my eyes adjust, my mind stills and my heart quickly opens. I get closer to the edges of my skin, lifted up and transported by the sheer scale of it all.
The images (Tasmania, New Zealand Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia ,India and Sri-Lanka) on this website reflect my physical journey during 2017 - 18,000 miles and 300 days of non-stop solo travel, and over 16,000 photographs. That journey, filtered and refined, was the inspiration for this website.
